Frequently Asked Questions
Please find some commonly asked
questions below, should you require any further help or advice please
call us on the number shown above or email us using the contact page.
Q. I have never let my property before - please
help!
We work with many new or inexperienced landlords. Our agents are always
available to speak to via telephone or email. Firstly we will arrange
for an agent to visit the property and provide a valuation, they will
advise on all aspects of letting, from health and safety issues to advice
on legal requirements. Once the agent returns they will compile all the
images and descriptions to make a property marketing page which will be
uploaded to the internet to begin the marketing process. Our agents will
keep you fully informed at every stage of the letting process.
Q. I have decided I want you to manage my property
what should I do?
Simply contact our agents on 0800 612 5228 and we will take care of
everything.
Q. North East Letting manages my property but
I want to take over can this be arranged?
Yes. You will need to provide the request in writing addressed to our
management centre, details can be found on our contact page. Once we receive
your request we will contact you to arrange the transfer.
Q. What reference check do you conduct on prospective
tenants? And can I view them?
Every tenant will undergo a credit and fraud check, this also highlights
any CCJ's the tenants may have, we will conduct an employer check and
a previous/current landlord check, we request copy bank statements and
wage slips and full photographic I.D. We can provide copies of all references
carried out, however due to data protection laws to view the credit check
you must visit us in person.
Q. Can I read your contracts before I decide
to instruct you?
Yes. We can either email, post or fax copies of our contracts for you
to read before instructing North East Letting.
Q. Are you a member of any trade bodies?
Yes. We are members of the Property Ombudsman for lettings, for further
details please visit the Ombudsman section.
